MFP Barcode Printing

Barcodes can be printed directly from MFP using any Zebra printer that is supported by the Zebra Browser Print plugin. Label output can be customized using ZPL templates.

Prerequisites

Before printing, make sure:

  • A Zebra printer is installed and reachable from your workstation.

  • The Zebra Browser Print plugin is installed and enabled in your browser.

  • (Optional) A custom ZPL template is available if you don’t want to use the default label layout.

 

Barcode Printing a Single Barcode (Equipment Item)

To print the barcode label for a single item:

  1. Navigate to the equipment item you want to label.

  2. Click the Print Barcode button.

  3. Choose either:

    • the default template, or

    • a custom template (if one is selected for your organisation).

  4. Send the label to your printer.

Printing Multiple Barcodes (Equipment Overview)

To print several equipment barcodes in one go:

  1. Go to the Equipment Overview screen.

  2. Select one or more items using the checkboxes in the leftmost column.

  3. A Print button will appear in the header.

  4. Click Print to send barcode labels for all selected items to the printer.

Printing Barcodes from Storage Locations

Navigate to:

  1. Inventory Management → Ground Data → Storage Locations

  2. In the Location column, click Manage for the relevant location group.

  3. Select one or more locations using the checkboxes.

  4. Click the Print button to send barcode labels to the printer.

Templates

Templates are created using ZPL (Zebra Programming Language) code, which is used as input for Zebra printers. A useful tool to parse and view ZPL code is the Labelary Online ZPL Viewer. An example of ZPL code is shown below.

The code above produces the following barcode label:

The placeholders {Name}, {SerialNumber}, {Barcode} and {BarcodeType} can be used in the template, after which the MFP replaces them by their actual values once printed. Templates can be added and modified within the MFP in the module Inventory Management → Ground Data → Barcode Templates:
