Research Planning module
Research Planning module allows users to plan the future cruises and to create the applications based on current planning. Also it permits users to edit existing planning and save changes in existing applications.
The Main menu is a dropdown list with items, which permit users to create new, import, export, save, rename, delete cruise plan and upload layers.
The Statistic button allows user to see information about the cruise, which was planned.
Link to MFP Application permits user to link the following cruise planning to existing or new application in Project Management module.
On the right side of Research Planning module there is a pane: Zoom in/Zoom out buttons; Reset bearing to north button; Layers; Add new locations to map; Export; Import.
Add new locations to map tab contains all possible items to provide research. Also there is a button “Import Coordinates” which allows users to upload file with different formates with coordinates of research items.
Layers tab allows users to observ different layers and zones on the map.
EEZ - Exclusive economic zone
MPA - Marine protected areas
Upload Layer button permits user to upload coordinates of specific or unique layers or zones.
Location tab contains information about port of departure, port of arrival, research points/ areas, time, disctance, vessels, fuel etc.
If the EEZ or the MPA are checked off as selected Layers, when a user plans research in these area they should still see this popping up in the left hand side.
When a research area/point is only inside a MPA Layer: Green Acclamation point and the note about area should be displayed. will be visible.
When a research area/point is only inside an EEZ Layer: The flag of the owning country of the EEZ should be visible.
When a research area/point is both MPA and EEZ layer the green acclamation point and a note about area and the flag of the owning country should be visible.
In case the area is disputed a red acclamation point will appear.
Vessel button allows user to choose and change preferable ship.
Station Details tab contains all detailed information of the planned cruise.
Time Table tab permits user to plan the exact time for the research and cruise.
In case the cruise planning was created and trying to navigate to another page will cause the appearance of alert warning user about preventing the possible loss of the entered information.
